Project LIFE IP ForEst&FarmLand aims to protect and restore traditional Estonian landscapes and ecosystems and improve the status of the species living there. A number of activities are linked to the project, one of which involves the creation of demonstration areas in agricultural landscapes, where nature-friendly farming techniques are tested and the impact of these activities on yields and biodiversity is monitored.

The driving force behind Livingfarm website is the landscape biodiversity workgroup of the University of Tartu.
